An exercise video continues to be a very popular choice for working out. An exercise video is less costly than expensive gym memberships or home exercise equipment. Many people are able to get into a solid workout routine by using exercise videos because it allows them to get a good workout without leaving their home. In addition, there are many exercise videos available that match the fitness level and interests of almost anyone.

An exercise video focuses mainly on aerobic workouts and exercise psychology that keep you moving and burning calories for a period of time. These videos can also work on different muscle groups, such as your as or legs, but many promise specific results like flattening your abs or thinning your legs. Most of these aerobic videos are set to music and make you do some sort of dance-workout, which many people feel better doing in the privacy of their own home because of the exercise psychology involved. However, you can also get together a group to work out to your exercise videos if that helps you to stay motivated. These videos also help make it easy to develop a workout schedule.

However, there are many exercise videos that don’t make you dance. One of the most popular alternatives to the regular exercise video is kickboxing videos. These kickboxing videos do not train you for combat, but they do help improve your cardiovascular health, muscle strength, stamina, coordination, and dexterity by making you punch, kick, and do certain kickboxing combinations.

Another popular exercise video genre is yoga and Pilates. Yoga and Pilates focus on controlled body movements and stretching to tone and strengthen the smaller supportive muscles in your spine and torso to alleviate back pain and improve posture. Many people enjoy a workout schedule with yoga and Pilates exercise videos because they show the proper techniques for these low impact and relaxing disciplines.

Other themes of an exercise video have a more sensual motif to spice up your workout schedule. You can get exercise videos that teach you how to belly dance, among other things. These videos use exercise psychology to help many people get into shape because they make it seem a lot less like exercise.

Although an exercise video is a useful tool for getting into shape, it isn’t a guarantee for success. The value of exercise videos is that you can find a workout that fits your fitness level and interests, and gives you a workout routine that you can do at anytime in the privacy of your own home. It is not necessary to do your workout every day, but the more the better, especially with low intensity workouts. The effectiveness of any exercise video is going to be determined by how much effort you put forth.
